ReadPath

Privacy Policy

Last updated 25 September 2026

ReadPath is a reading app. It builds you a reading plan, times your reading sessions, keeps the notes you save while you read, and writes you a review of your week. This policy explains what we collect to do that, who else sees it, and how to get rid of it.

We have written it in plain language rather than legal language. Where something is awkward — data we cannot delete for you, for instance — we say so rather than hiding it.

Who we are

ReadPath is built and operated by Malhar Bakshi, Mumbai 400067, Maharashtra, India. For anything in this policy — a question, a correction, or a request about your data — write to readpath.app@gmail.com. A person reads every message.

What we collect

Your account

When you sign up with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose Hide My Email, we only ever see Apple's private relay address, never your real one. We do not receive or store your password.

What you tell us during setup

Your reading

Your device

Your subscription

We record whether you have an active subscription, which plan, and when it renews. We never see your card details. Apple handles payment and shares only the status of the purchase.

What we do with it

WhatWhy
Your goal, growth areas, plan length and paceTo build your reading plan and choose your Book of the Month
Your sessions and capturesTo show your progress, and to write your weekly review
Your reading time and daysTo send reminders when you asked for them
Your subscription statusTo unlock the paid features you bought
Your account detailsTo keep your reading yours, on any device you sign in on

We do not sell your data. We do not show advertising. We do not build profiles of you for anyone else.

Who else sees it

ReadPath uses a small number of services to work. Each sees only what it needs.

ServiceWhat it receives
Google FirebaseYour account and all your reading data. This is where ReadPath stores everything.
OpenAIYour goal, growth areas and book titles when a plan is built; and the notes you captured that week when your review is written. Your notes leave our servers for this.
Open LibraryA book's title and author, to confirm the book is real before it reaches your plan. Nothing about you.
RevenueCatYour account identifier and the state of your subscription.
OneSignalYour account identifier, your notification token, your time zone, and a few facts used to decide what to send: your streak, when you last read, the book you are reading, whether you have a plan, your subscription status, and whether you want offers.
AppleEverything to do with payment, and your Sign in with Apple connection.

About the AI. ReadPath uses OpenAI's models to build your plan, choose your Book of the Month, and write your weekly review. To write that review, the notes you saved that week are sent to OpenAI. Your content is not used to train their models. It is held for a limited period under OpenAI's own retention rules, which means that once it has been sent, we cannot delete it on your behalf. If you would rather nothing you write leaves our servers, do not use the weekly review.

Where it is kept

Your data is stored on Google's servers in the United States. If you are in the UK, the EU or elsewhere, your data is transferred there to provide the service.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from inside the app: Me → Settings → Delete account. It cannot be undone.

Your account is removed immediately. Everything in it is removed from our servers within 24 hours: your profile, books, shelves, sessions, captures, plan, reviews and picks, together with your records at OneSignal and RevenueCat. If you signed in with Apple, ReadPath is also disconnected from your Apple ID.

What we keep, and why

Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Apple keeps billing until you cancel it yourself, and no app can cancel it for you. Cancel first, in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions, if you do not want to be charged again.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or ask for a copy of it. Deletion is in the app. For anything else, write to readpath.app@gmail.com and we will answer within 30 days.

If you are in the UK or the EU, our lawful basis is the contract between us — we cannot provide a reading app without your reading. Notifications and offers rest on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in Settings or in your phone's settings.

Children

ReadPath is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will remove it.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
